Kunming

In the middle part of Yunnan, there is a lake that looks like a bright pearl on the plateau. It was called Diannanze in ancient times, and today is also known as "Kunyang Lake" because it's close to Kunyang. Kunming, the capital of Yunnan province situated on the lakeside, is a world famous "Spring City." Kunming has plentiful natural and cultural landscapes due to its long history and unique geological structure.
In 1982, China's State Council recognized Kunming as one of the first 24 national historical and cultural cities. With a 3,000-year-old history, this city is home to beautiful flowers that bloom throughout the year.
Kunming High-tech Industrial Development Zone (the "industrial development zone") was one of 53 national high-tech industrial development areas approved by the State Council in 1992.
​Kunming Economic and Technological Development Zone (the "economic and technological development zone") is located in the eastern area of Kunming and covers 9.8 square kilometers.
Kunming, capital of stunning Yunnan province, is famous for its first-rate natural scenery, among which Shilin, literally "Stone Forest," is the most famous one.
​Located in the northeast suburbs of Kunming, World Horticultural Expo Garden is the site of the 1999 Kunming International Horticultural Exposition.
