China's retail sales of consumer goods grew by 5.5% year on year in September 2023, 0.9 percentage point higher than the previous month, an official of the National Bureau of Statistics said Wednesday in Beijing.

The total import and export of China's pilot free trade zones (FTZs) registered 7.5 trillion yuan (US$1.03 trillion) in 2022, China Customs announced Wednesday. Trade volume through the FTZs increased from 2.7% of the country's total foreign trade in 2013 to 17.9% in 2022.
