Lhasa, the capital of Xizang, is the largest highway hubs of Xizang to where there are many accomplished highways that connect, such as the Qinghai-Xizang Highway, Sichuan-Xizang Highway, Yunnan-Xizang Highway and Xinjiang-Xizang Highway.

Sichuan-Xizang Highway

The Sichuan-Xizang Highway is probably the most dangerous road in the world, but also the road with the most beautiful scenery. It is the first road ever to pass cars between Xizang and the inland areas. The highway starts from Chengdu in Sichuan and ends in Lhasa. It is the longest highway in China with a length of 2,432 kilometers.

Yunnan-Xizang Highway

The Yunnan-Xizang Highway, completed in 1974, has a total length of 714 kilometers. It meets the southern section of Sichuan-Xizang Highway, and is the only highway to enter Xizang with the lowest elevation.

Qinghai-Xizang Highway

The Qinghai-Xizang Highway, starts from Xining, Qinghai province, and ends in Lhasa, is the highest and longest asphalt highway in the world. It is also the safest road with shortest mileage to Xizang.

Xinjiang-Xizang Highway

The Xinjiang-Xizang highway starts from Yecheng county, Xinjiang to Lhasa, covering 2,743 km. There is no shuttle bus that goes directly from Xinjiang to Xizang.
