"Panda Plan: The Magical Tribe," a Jackie Chan action-comedy and sequel to 2024's "Panda Plan," follows CGI panda cub Huhu and Chan as they accidentally encounter an isolated tribe that reveres the panda as a divine beast. Chan must navigate tribal factions to protect Huhu as an ancient crisis threatens everyone. Acclaimed director Derek Hui helms the film, with comedian Ma Li playing the tribe's chief. Other cast members include Qiao Shan, Yu Yang and Wang Yinglu. A lifelong panda advocate, Chan, 71, has served as an ambassador for Chengdu's panda base since 2009 and adopted two pandas — often carrying panda plush toys at events, including on the Oscars red carpet. His love for the animal and desire to promote China's national treasure drove his involvement in the franchise. The film has officially announced its overseas release schedule. It will open on Feb. 17 in Singapore, Malaysia and Brunei; on Feb. 25 in Indonesia and the Philippines; followed by March releases in Cambodia, Myanmar, Laos, the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand — bringing Jackie Chan's signature action back to the big screen for overseas fans.
