Chongqing

Chongqing is the largest municipality in Southwest China, with more than 30 million people. Known as the Mountain City (Chongqing has quite a few nicknames), it has maintained rapid economic growth and development, while still preserving its natural environments. Chongqing boasts bumpy terrains, a wealth of water reserves, mineral resources, and dense forests.
The State Council Information Office held a press conference on June 5 in Beijing to brief the media on building Chongqing into a key strategic fulcrum for the development of China's western region in the new era and a comprehensive hub for inland opening-up.
