Friendship provinces and cities

Fuzhou city in Fujian province established its first friendship city relationship with Nagasaki, Japan, in October 1980. As of Aug 1, 2024, Fujian province has expanded that network to 126 friendship province/city relationships with provinces and cities in 48 countries around the world.

Of those 126, 35 are at the provincial level. At the city level, there are 20 for Fuzhou, 22 for Xiamen, 10 for Quanzhou, six for Zhangzhou, five for Putian, three for Nanping, two for Sanming, three for Longyan, four for Ningde, two for Shishi, two for Wuyishan, two for Nan'an, one for Fuding, two for Jinjiang, and one for Fuqing. At the county/district level, there is one for Shanghang county, one for Taining county, one for Gulou district in Fuzhou, one for Siming district in Xiamen, one for Changle district in Fuzhou, and one for Licheng district in Quanzhou.
