Jilin province established its first friendly relationship with Saskatchewan, Canada, on June 5, 1984. By the end of February, 2025, the province has 16 sister provinces/cities around the world.

Jilin province and Saskatchewan province established a friendly relationship on June 5, 1984. Saskatchewan is a province of forests and grasslands in Western Canada, the middle of the three "Prairie Provinces" (Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Alberta).

Jilin province and Vojvodina province established a friendly relationship on October 15, 1984. Vojvodina is an autonomous province in the north of the Republic of Serbia. It is the northernmost province of Serbia, and is bordered by Croatia to the west, Hungary to the north, and Romania to the east.

Jilin province and Miyagi prefecture established a friendly relationship on June 1, 1987. Miyagi is Japan's sixteenth largest prefecture. It is agricultural but also has a strong manufacturing industry, especially in electronics.

Jilin province and Primorye Territory established a friendly relationship on November 19, 1990. Primorye -- in full, Primorsky Kray -- is located between the Sea of Japan (East Sea) to the east and northeastern China to the west.

Jilin province and the state of Maine established a friendly relationship on September 16, 1993. Maine lies in the New England region of the United States, bordered by New Hampshire to the west, the Atlantic Ocean to the southeast, and the Canadian provinces of New Brunswick and Quebec to the northeast and northwest.

Jilin province and Volgograd oblast established a friendly relationship on December 8, 1993. Volgograd, formerly (until 1961) Stalingrad, oblast (region), in southwestern Russia, straddles the lower Volga and Don rivers.

Jilin province and Lasi county established a friendly relationship on August 11, 1994. Lasi, a county in northeastern Romania, is bordered in the east by Moldova.

Jilin province and Fejer county established a friendly relationship on May 15, 1995. Fejer is an administrative county in Central Hungary. It lies on the west bank of the Danube River and nearly touches the eastern shore of Balaton Lake.

Jilin province and Gangwon-do province established a friendly relationship on August 22, 1998. Gangwon-do, a province of South Korea, with its capital at Chuncheon, is bounded in the east by the Sea of Japan, and borders Gyeonggi-do to the west and Chungcheongbuk-do and Gyeongsangbuk-do to the south.

Jilin province and Entre Ríos province established a friendly relationship on November 4, 1996. Entre Ríos is a central province of Argentina, located between two rivers, the Paraná to the west and the Uruguay to the east, the latter of which forms the Uruguayan border. The province's name means "between rivers".

Jilin province and Sakarya province established a friendly relationship on August 28, 2002. Sakarya, a province of Türkiye, is located on the coast of the Black Sea.

Jilin province and Tottori prefecture established a friendly relationship on November 26, 2017. Tottori prefecture is located on the Japan Sea coast in the Chūgoku region of Japan.

Jilin province and Töv Province established a friendly relationship on May 25, 2018. Töv (means "central" in Mongolian) Province, or Töv Aimag, borders the national capital Ulaanbaatar to the north and is indeed in the center of the country.

Jilin province and Shimane prefecture established a friendly relationship on October 15, 2018. Shimane, a prefecture of Japan, stretches along the northern coast of the Chūgoku region of the main Honshu Island.

Jilin province and South Chungcheong province established a friendly relationship on August 21, 2019. South Chungcheong province is a region of western South Korea. It is mostly composed of plains and is a vital transportation hub connecting the capital Seoul with the southern region by both rail and road.

Jilin province and Gyeonggi province established a friendly relationship on October 30, 2019. Gyeonggi province is the most populous province in South Korea. Its name, Gyeonggi, means "near the capital", an apt description of this province surrounding Seoul.
