Famous Tourism City
Chengdu has been conferred the title of the "Best Tourism City of China" by the UN World Tourism Organization, and has been rated by Tripadvisor, a global travel commentary website, as one of the "top 10 China destinations" for travelers worldwide.
Nature
"My window frames the snow-crowned western mountain scene; My door oft says to eastward-going ships 'Goodbye!'" The ancient lines of Du Fu (712-770), the Poet Sage of the Tang Dynasty (618-907), are not just stunning scenery existing only in the poet's imagination; they reveal his true feelings about what he saw. In Chengdu, a park city under snow-capped mountains, you can "appreciate azaleas in spring, play with water in summer, view ginkgo in autumn and ski in winter".
World Heritage
Chengdu is home to the Dujiangyan Irrigation System and Mount Qingcheng, a World Natural and Cultural Heritage site. This has changed the situation that there was no such world heritage in the history of global water conservancy and Chinese Taoism.
Giant Panda
Chengdu has been the homeland of giant pandas since ancient times. In Chengdu, you can see cute pandas in the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding in Chenghua District which has bred the largest population of captive giant pandas across the globe. You can also visit the Panda Valley in Dujiangyan City with more than 10 giant pandas for training research on reintroduction adaptation all year round. Giant panda has become the symbol and mark around the corners and alleys in Chengdu.
