[Ecological Resources]

The good ecological environment of Anhui, particularly the mild weather, abundant rainfall and loamy soil, makes it an ideal habitat for a wide variety of animals and plants. The Chinese (Yangtze) alligator and Chinese river dolphin (white-fin dolphin) are rare animals in the world that live in the Yangtze River flowing through the south of Anhui.

The province has established 8 national natural reserves and 33 provincial ones. In 2023, the area of manpower afforestation was 18.8 thousand hectares.

[Agricultural Resources]

Anhui has a wide range of agricultural products, with the output of grain, cotton and oil ranking among the highest in the nation. It is one of the most important bases for yielding pollution-free staple agricultural produce and organic food in China. It has a promising future for further agricultural industrialization. In 2023, the province harvested 41.508 million tons of grain, 1.89 million tons of edible oils and 20,000 tons of cotton. Anhui takes the lead in China for developing special and high profit agricultural products, including tea, tobacco, Chinese traditional herbal medicines, vegetables and fruits.
