Overview

Anhui is located in the eastern part of China. It is about 570 km from south to north and 450 km from east to west, covering an area of 140.1 thousand square kilometers, about 1.45 percent of the total area of the country. At the end of 2023, the number of permanent residents in Anhui reached 61.21 million.

With the Yangtze River and the Huaihe River flowing through it, the province has easy access to the ocean. After years of large-scale construction, an easily accessible transportation system has been formed in Anhui, with the density of railways and the numbers of highways ranking ahead of other provinces in central China. Anhui's advantageous geographical location of linking the East with the West and connecting the North with the South of China has become more and more noteworthy.
