High level diplomats from over 20 embassies and international organizations visited northeastern Beijing's Pinggu district on April 18, during the event of "Foreign Diplomats Tour Beijing – Pinggu Special Section."

Representatives from the UAE, Turkey, Panama, Latvia, Suriname, Kenya, and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) took part in the event, which was jointly hosted by Beijing and Pinggu district.

UAE Ambassador Hussain Ibrahim Al Hammadi to China said the event allowed foreign envoys to experience firsthand the unique charm of Beijing and Pinggu's vibrant practices in sustainable development, technological innovation, and ecological progress. He looked forward to using this event as an opportunity to deepen practical cooperation with Beijing and Pinggu in trade, technology, culture, and tourism, working together for mutual benefit and win win results.

In her opening remarks, Huang Yihua, director of the Beijing Municipal Foreign Affairs Office, noted that the "Foreign Diplomats Tour Beijing" series has become an important platform for the diplomatic corps to better understand and experience Beijing. She expressed hope that the diplomats would gain a deeper and more comprehensive understanding of Beijing through this event and continue to expand practical cooperation in various fields.

Pinggu's Governor Di Tao noted that Pinggu has a rich historical heritage and serves as the core area of China's Agricultural Zhongguancun – an "agricultural silicon valley." The district is also an eco friendly, livable city. He hoped that this event would mark the beginning of deeper cooperation with other countries in culture, agriculture, and eco tourism, bringing Pinggu's stories to the world and fostering friendships that take root in the district.

More than 20 Pinggu based enterprises participated in the event, including East Buy, Zixingyuan, Qiangyou Group and Xmeats.
