The China National Academy of Painting in Beijing is holding an exhibition showcasing landscape paintings in ink and oil by contemporary Chinese artists.
Running until Oct. 13 and free to the public, the exhibition centers around the themes of integration and breakthrough. It aims to showcase the dynamic dialogue between traditional Chinese ink paintings and Western oil paintings, a convergence that has enriched and diversified contemporary Chinese painting styles.
The curated works explores new possibilities and potential future trends in Chinese painting that can be realized by integrating and innovating the techniques, cultural elements and aesthetics of the two types of painting.
Outstanding works by a total of 44 ink and oil painters are on display, with the hope of creating interesting conversations between the many distinct works and helping shape contemporary Chinese art.
